Artist statement

A candle, brushes and a canvas in the artist’s studio
From the studio

“In my work, I truly explore the object of attention. What matters most is not the presence of an object or a person, but the atmosphere and the phenomenon in which they find themselves.”

It may be a ray of light that touches and penetrates an object, changing its character and mood on the border between tranquillity and unease, or a moment that brings an unexpected outcome to those within the scene.

To achieve my artistic aims and give an idea a clear form, I actively use photography in my practice. I believe it offers the possibility of witnessing the “decisive moment”.

Each of my works begins with an artistic intention, developed through the creation of a carefully staged photographic composition as the basis for further creative work.
